A Capable Volkswagen Pickup Truck Concept

By sernaj | Posted in Uncategorized on Tuesday, April 17th, 2018 at 1:02 PM

When you shop for a car here at Executive Volkswagen of North Haven, it’s easy to find a particular kind of vehicle. We have unique hatchbacks, stylish sedans, and capable SUVs on our lot right now, and one of them is perfect for you. One thing we don’t sell is a pickup truck, but the Volkswagen brand recently gave us a glance at what that could look like at the New York Auto Show. The Volkswagen Atlas Tanoak concept is an innovative take on the pickup truck.

You probably guessed based on its name, but this new Volkswagen concept is based on the Volkswagen Atlas SUV. It’s the first truck to be built on the MQB platform and it’s actually quite a bit longer than the Volkswagen Atlas is. It would fit nicely into the midsize pickup truck segment. Another thing you’ll notice about this concept is that it sits higher above the ground, which means that it has some off-road aspirations. That factor and a spacious cargo bed could make this model ideal for outdoor adventures.

The Volkswagen Atlas Tanoak looks a bit more rugged than the SUV its based on thanks to some new headlights, a redesigned bumper, and a raised engine hood. It looks more dynamic than the typical pickup truck. Inside you’ll find room for five passengers and some advanced technology, including the Digital Cockpit display. This concept truck also offers some serious power, with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that can put out more than 270 horsepower. If this concept becomes a production model, we’re sure that many drivers will be taking an interest in it.

If you’re a driver in New Haven, CT and you’re wondering “Where can I find a Volkswagen dealer near me?” you need to visit our dealership. We’ll help you find a new or pre-owned car that you’ll love. We look forward to helping you find a dependable Volkswagen model!

Volkswagen Cars Get Greener

By sernaj | Posted in Uncategorized on Tuesday, March 27th, 2018 at 7:36 PM

Here at Executive Volkswagen of North Haven, we know that more drivers are looking for greener cars lately. We also know that the Volkswagen brand is going to lead the way in that regard. We covered some of the unique concepts its engineers have displayed in recent years, but now we know more about their specific plans and a new multi-billion dollar effort.

Recently, it was announced that the Volkswagen Group wants to introduce a new electric vehicle nearly every month. This will naturally include some new Volkswagen cars and SUVs. At least some of the models introduced in the next year or so will be fully-electric models, but we can expect to see some new plug-in hybrid vehicles as well. The unique SEDRIC concept, a boxy car with a futuristic look, could also go into production as the Volkswagen brand makes an effort to stay ahead of the latest mobility trends.

It has also been announced that the brand will spend $24 billion on electric vehicle efforts. That number could rise even higher as it introduces more electric cars, looks for better ways to build batteries, and expands production of green vehicles to more than a dozen factories worldwide in the next few years. In addition to new models, we can expect to see an electrified version of every Volkswagen model by the end of the next decade. The successors to your favorite vehicles, from the 2018 Volkswagen Passat to the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan, could all get a little greener. We can’t wait to see what kind of new advances the Volkswagen brand can come up with!

So keep an eye on our blog for the latest news about green Volkswagen cars, and then visit our Volkswagen dealership near Hamden, CT. Our Volkswagen dealers will make it easy to find a new or pre-owned vehicle that suits your budget or driving needs. We look forward to meeting you!

The Volkswagen I.D. Vizzion Concept

By sernaj | Posted in Uncategorized on Sunday, March 18th, 2018 at 4:50 PM

At Executive Volkswagen of North Haven, we’re always excited to learn more about a new Volkswagen car. Whether it’s an updated version of an old favorite or a new concept car, we love to see what kind of direction the Volkswagen brand is heading in. One reveal that recently attracted attention was the I.D. Vizzion concept, which could help usher us into an autonomous vehicle future.

This concept sedan is unique for a few reasons. Like many of the I.D. concepts we’ve seen so far, it’s a completely electric model. This sleek vehicle is powered by two electric motors with a total power output of 302 horsepower. It would also have a range of more than 400 miles on a single charge, which should go a long way towards eliminating range anxiety for most drivers.

What sets this electric vehicle concept apart, however, is its interior. You’ll notice that it’s lacking some of the features you’ve come to expect from every vehicle. You might be wondering what we mean by that. Is there a steering wheel? Are there pedals? The answer to both questions is no.

The I.D. Vizzion is a Level 5 autonomous car, which means that it handles every single aspect of driving all on its own. It doesn’t need human intervention at any point. This innovative model will serve as a showcase for the Volkswagen brand’s latest self-driving car technology and it will rely on gesture and voice controls for accessing the infotainment system’s features. This is the concept car of the future and we can’t wait to see if this kind of tech arrive in production vehicles.

So if you’re looking for new cars that offer the most advanced tech, visit our Volkswagen dealership near New Haven, CT. We’ll help you find a vehicle that comes equipped with all of the in-car features that you need. We hope to see you soon for a test drive!
