Volkswagen Plans To Revolutionize Electric Vehicle Market With Their ID. Range

October 7th, 2021 by

With electric vehicles taking the world by storm and growing in popularity year after year as car manufacturers roll out their takes on the energy-efficient vehicles, Volkswagen has set forth big plans to revolutionize the EV market within the coming years.

Volkswagen’s current ID. 4 EV has garnered tremendous success since it’s release and is sought after by many consumers seeking to venture into the EV world of cars. Volkswagen is fueling that success by laying out a multitude of electric vehicle concepts to come to fruition in the nearing years. Volkswagen has made it clear with these efforts that they are seeking to not only dominate the electric vehicle sphere, but normalize electric powered travel on the roads.

Volkswagen announced back in 2017 their idea for the ID. Buzz, an electric, modern take on their ever-popular minivan. With the goal of going on sale in the US in 2023, the time is nearing for the vehicle to hit the streets. The van melds the classic Volkswagen heritage with streamlined energy-efficient technologies to bring their classic designs into the future.

Following along the lines of personal-use EV models to be released, the German manufacturer recently released plans for the ID. Life, an electric mini-SUV that is set to launch by 2025. The compact SUV electric model was designed with the intention of making EV’s more readily accessible and affordable with the hopes of increasing their overall presence on the road, hence the pricing set to be roughly 20,000 euros ($23,1980). The design of the vehicle wraps natural materials, modern functionality, and simple comfort all in one.The ID. Life consists of wood chips for natural coloring along with recycled PET bottles to compose the roof and front cover. Cutting no corners for optimizing the digital experience, the EV is equipped with a video game console and projector to bring a true at-home level of comfort right inside your car. Although the ID. Life is initially going to be released in Europe, Volkswagen has shared that it could eventually make its way into the US.

One last notable mention for Volkswagen’s planned ID line of EV vehicle releases to come is their Autonomous Ambulance take on the ID. Buzz discussed above. Volkswagen teased the prototype concept for the driverless ambulance at a world conference in Hamburg earlier this year and it is set to be released by 2025. There is also light talk that the German manufacturer may also be working on releasing a driverless taxi and mobile office as part of the future electric fleet of vehicles.

There is no doubt that Volkswagen is taking charge in their efforts to bring more energy-efficient electric vehicles to both everyday consumers and commercial use to heighten their use in society today, hopefully leading to a more green-focused world.
